History
Serving Finney County
The Finney County Community Health Coalition consists of members from health, social service, education, community, and other service providers. The Coalition provides its community with access to information and services that promote good health and well-being for all residents.
Because the Coalition’s membership is wide and varied, it can target nearly every county service area and constituency in Finney County and beyond. Target areas include, but are not limited to, homeless, elders-in-need, at-risk youth, families in transition from welfare to work, intensive rehabilitation populations, and family life/marriage education.
Through its periodic, community-wide health summits, the Coalition strives to hear and respond to concerns and health needs of residents. The Coalition members then seek to address programs, policies, and practices of service providers by providing technical assistance for fine-tuning of current services or by creating new projects as necessary.
The Coalition is proactive in public transportation, issues in immigration, tobacco use (public smoking bans and cessation assistance), parent training, and at-risk youth behaviors.
