Help Wanted: Youth Program Coordinator – Make a Difference in Finney County!
Are you passionate about empowering youth and building healthier communities? LiveWell Finney County is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Youth Program Coordinator to join our team at Garden City High School!
In this vital role, you’ll be on the front lines of youth prevention, implementing evidence-based programs like Substance Free Athletes and Teen Intervene to guide students towards positive choices. Beyond prevention, you’ll be a trusted resource, connecting students and their families to essential services that address critical needs like food security, housing, healthcare, and mental health support.

As our Youth Program Coordinator, you will:
- Lead Prevention Programs: Implement and oversee Substance Free Athletes (including student contracts, peer education, and coach training) and facilitate Teen Intervene for students needing early intervention.
- Engage and Recruit: Collaborate with school staff, coaches, and community partners to get youth involved in our life-changing prevention initiatives.
- Plan & Deliver: Organize and lead engaging prevention events, parent workshops, and student education sessions.
- Be a Community Connector: Serve as a bridge, connecting students and families with crucial resources for food, housing, healthcare, transportation, and behavioral health, providing culturally responsive support (interpreters available as needed for Spanish-speaking families).
- Track & Report: Maintain accurate records of program participation and outcomes, preparing impactful reports for LiveWell Finney County, Garden City High School, and KDADS.
- Champion Youth Leadership: Promote student involvement and boost the visibility of our programs within the school and wider community.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in youth development, prevention, counseling, or community health (preferred).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse students and families.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred – a huge plus for serving our community!
- Knowledge of local resources and social services in Finney County.
- A strong ability to maintain confidentiality, build trust, and demonstrate cultural competency.
- Flexibility to work some evenings/weekends for events or meetings.

Compensation & Schedule:
- Part-time: 25-29 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to meet school and coalition needs.
- Compensation commensurate with experience.
- Eligible for mileage reimbursement and professional development opportunities.
