In honor of Red Ribbon Week, LiveWell Finney County is encouraging community members to join the fight against substance abuse by wearing red ribbons and taking the Parent Pledge to promote drug-free living. Red Ribbon Week, held annually from October 23 to October 31, is the largest and longest-running drug prevention campaign in the country. This year, LiveWell Finney County invites everyone to participate in this important initiative.
Red Ribbon Week is a time to unite as a community to support efforts to reduce youth substance use and promote a healthier future for our young people. By wearing red ribbons and taking the Parent Pledge, parents, guardians, and community members can show their commitment to leading by example and encouraging children to live drug-free lives.
Red ribbons and Parent Pledges are available now at the LiveWell Finney County offices, located at 310 E. Walnut Suite 202. We encourage all local businesses, schools, and organizations to display red ribbons and engage in conversations about the dangers of substance use.
“We know that prevention starts with awareness and education,” said Beth Koksal, Director of Community Health at LiveWell Finney County. “Red Ribbon Week is an opportunity for our community to come together to reinforce the message that drugs have no place in the lives of our youth. By wearing red ribbons and taking the pledge, we send a powerful message of support and solidarity.”
