In partnership with Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services, LiveWell Finney County will be holding a free swim night for the public at the Garden Rapids at the Big Pool, 504 E. Maple, Garden City, Kansas on July 31, from 6:30pm-8:30pm

In June, LiveWell Finney County was awarded a grant in the amount of $99,000 for E-cigarette and tobacco prevention-reduction efforts in Finney County targeting 6th grade to 25-year-olds.   The free swim event will be an opportunity for the public to learn more about the dangers of vaping.  Parent information on how to talk with your teen will be available along with a vape display.  Free drawings for t-shirts and other items will be given out at the event.  The Garden City Recreation Department will be providing a complimentary hot dog and beverage to all attendees. “We just want people to come and have fun while learning about E-Cigarettes and the dangers of them,” according to Donna Gerstner, Grant Coordinator.

Additional e-cigarette prevention efforts this summer include signage at outdoor sports facilities this summer along with ads at the movie theatre.  For more information, contact Donna Gerstner at LiveWell Finney County 620-765-1183.
